View PDF and Edit PDF share the exact same in-browser toolkit — delete, duplicate, insert, reorder, rotate, or crop a page, add page numbers, rotate or reverse every page at once, and annotation tools like whiteout, add text, highlight, blackout, link, and add icon. The only difference is how you get there: View PDF opens straight into instant viewing, with an "Enable editing" button that reveals the full toolbar when you need it, while Edit PDF drops you straight into editing.
Private by construction, not just by policy
There is no server step to view or edit a page here — your PDF opens and everything happens entirely on your device, so there is nothing to upload in the first place. That makes it safe to open a document you would rather not send anywhere, and it works the same on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android since the work all happens on your own device.
Frequently asked questions
Does viewing a PDF here upload it anywhere?
No, never — not even when you edit it. The preview is drawn entirely in your browser, the same way Chrome and Firefox render PDFs internally, and page edits (delete, insert, reorder, rotate, page numbers) are applied and saved locally too. Pressing Download builds the file and saves it straight from your browser — nothing is sent to a server at any point.
Is there a limit on how many pages I can view?
No page limit for viewing. The one size limit is 25 MB per file.
Can I view a password-protected PDF?
Not directly — an encrypted PDF can't be read by the in-browser viewer. Remove its password first with our Unlock PDF tool (you'll need to know the password), then view it here.
Can I edit the PDF from here?
Yes — press "Enable editing" and the full page-level toolkit appears: delete, duplicate, insert, reorder, rotate, or crop a page, add page numbers, rotate or reverse every page at once, and annotation tools (whiteout, add text, highlight, blackout, link, add icon), all entirely in your browser. It is the same toolkit as our Edit PDF tool. A Download button appears once you've made a change. In-place text editing of the document's own text isn't offered, since a PDF is a fixed, page-shaped format rather than reflowable text; our PDF to Word tool converts it to an editable document instead.
