It never leaves your browser. Your PDF opens locally, and the watermark is drawn directly into the file — the same process the download step uses for every other edit here. Size and opacity are adjustable for either type, color for text, and you can drag the watermark anywhere on the page, so it can sit as a bold warning or a faint background mark exactly where you want it.
