You’ve got a PDF — a report, a one-pager, a set of diagrams — and you need to present it, which means you actually need slides you can edit, reorder, and annotate live. Retyping the whole thing into a new deck is the slow way. Converting the PDF directly is the fast one.

  1. Go to the PDF to PowerPoint page and add your file, up to 25 MB.
  2. Click convert. Each page of your PDF becomes one slide, with text, images, and layout rebuilt so you get a real, editable .pptx rather than a flattened picture.
  3. Download the file and open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides — ready to present or keep editing.

Text-based PDFs — the kind exported from PowerPoint, Word, or design software — convert best, arriving with genuinely editable text on each slide. A scanned PDF is harder, since scanned pages are pictures of text rather than real characters, so those slides may come through as images rather than editable content; for the cleanest result, start from a PDF whose text you can select and highlight.

This is worth reaching for even when you’d rather have the original file, because often you don’t have it — someone sent you a finished PDF, not the source deck, and converting the PDF is the only path back to something editable when the original PowerPoint file isn’t available. If the PDF is password-protected, remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), since an encrypted PDF can’t be read by any converter.

Afterward: compress the PDF first next time if it’s large, for a faster conversion; go the other direction with PowerPoint to PDF, which turns a finished deck back into a shareable PDF; or try PDF to Word if you need the content as a document instead of slides.

If the PDF is a written report rather than an exported deck, the conversion is only the first step — How to Turn a PDF Report Into a Slide Presentation covers turning prose into slides.
